Faces is a work looking into these unsettling times and the concerns for what is real. Quarantine, distancing, fatigue, isolation, false narratives. The work started as a pulling of geometric forms and lines across a textured background created from architectural hatch patterns as a structured composition, and evolved suddenly as I introduced the undulating blue element to the foreground as an abstraction of a face. The work seemed to resolve itself through my own feelings for what we face and what is real.
